A Word from the Walkers     Spring 2011

Dear Friends,

We trust this finds you all well and encouraged in the Lord. This year because of the "La Nina" effect we had heavy rains right up until February. Now that Dry season is here it is hitting with full force and we have daily temperatures of 38-42°C.

Delivering calendars Delivering calendars to a church in the mountains Calendar & Literature Distribution

Distributing calendars and literature to churches all over Panama kept us busy during December.

Then in January and February we went door to door in five different villages.

The calendars are a great way to get the scriptures into homes.

Shoe Boxes

In February we received 30 Shoe box gifts from the USA for the children in La Mina.

One Sunday afternoon we had a meeting for the children with songs, Bible lesson, quiz and Memory Verse; just like a Sunday school class. Then each child received a shoe box gift and was invited to come to Sunday school each week.

The photo shows the joy the boxes brought to these wee ones. Since then a number of new children have been coming to the class.

Tribal Leaders' Conference

In February Clive was able to attend the Tribal conference for Church Leaders.

What a tremendous encouragement to see over 100 believers from all over the country come together to praise the Lord.

A number of people from the Buglere churches attended too and Clive enjoyed being able to talk with them.

Jon and Shanelle

Last month Shanelle got word that the Immigration office had received all her papers for residency and is processing them.

So hopefully she should be approved in the next few months.

Little Elliot is growing up fast and all being well we will be grandparents again in May!

Judith's graduation
Judith's Graduation
Judith in school

In December Judith graduated from the Oxford High School.

The school put on quite a program for the graduating students and Judith was presented with a medal for responsibility.

Judith is returning to the same school again this year to complete further studies.

She is also a volunteer teaching assistant for the Pre-school class.

This is an excellent opportunity for Judith to gain experience in the classroom.

Hazel heading home

During the month of March Hazel will be home in Northern Ireland to spend time with her Mum and brother. Pray for their time together, and for safety as she travels. Also for Clive and Judith who will be trying to continue on as normal in Panama.

Praise:

  •  For all the calendars and tracts that have been put into homes.
  •  There are others who want to hear the gospel.
  •  For the La Mina Bible studies that continue twice weekly.

Pray for:

  •  The Bible studies in homes.
  •  The believers in La Mina that they would desire to be strong in their faith and for the salvation of their families.
  •  The continued healing of Ramona's foot. It's been over a year since she had her big toe removed.
  •  Judith to be a blessing to the children in the school and for opportunities for her to share about Christ with the teachers.

We have seen God's loving hand in so many ways since we have arrived in Panama. The faithful way you stand with us in this ministry is one of the ways we know His care. Please continue to keep us in your prayers and thank you for being part of the work!

In Him
