Dear Friends,
Things have really been speeding up this month. From the tract distribution each week in the village of Atalaya, we have had some good contacts. There are now 5 homes in Atalaya and 2 in La Mina where we have Bible studies. Most of the houses are studying twice a week which means 12 studies a week. We praise the Lord for these open doors and pray that the interest will continue.
In Atalaya -
1. Francisco (16yrs) - he practically knows nothing about the Bible - where Genesis or the New Testament is.
2. Juanita (40's) - a very religious woman and sometimes her young daughter listens as well.
3. Jestudio (60's) - Pray that his wife would listen to the study as well.
4. Nicolas (30's) - He is just beginning studies with us.
5. Jose (40s) - He and his two young boys (8 & 5 yrs). His third son who is not quite 2 yrs yet likes to take control of the study and distract his father a lot. (Very hyper active.)
La Mina is about 4 miles out of Atalayla on a mud road and we have to cross 2 small rivers to get there - a bit like jungle living again and we are really thankful for the 4x4 to be able to cross over! These people are really poor but have great interest in studying.
In La Mina -
6. Six adults, 2-3 teens, 3-4 children, very religious family . Santiago (86) & Ramona (75) are the grandparents and the rest are children and grandchildren.
7. Ernesto Baldez family- Husband, wife and 2 small boys (7 & 5 yrs) just starting to study with us.
To continue the Bible studies above we really need your prayers, not only for us, (stamina, health and God's wisdom) but also for the folks who are listening, that God will continue to touch their hearts concerning the truth of His Word.
Two weeks ago saw the finish of the Evangelistic lessons in the church here in Santiago. They had a special service on 19th July to recognise all those who had completed the course. Clive was asked to be the speaker at that meeting; and to encourage the people to teach others, he used 2 Timothy 2:15 "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
This week we are looking forward to a visit from our former co workers, Larry & Paula Welch. We haven't seen them for a number of years so it will be good to catch up on things with them.
Thank you so much for your interest and prayers.
Clive & Hazel Walker
