Dear Friends,
It has been 7 hot weeks of tempratures exceeding 40°C each day since we returned to Panama. Thankfully now the rains have started again so it should begin to cool down a little.
When we got back to Santiago there was a delivery of Study books waiting for us from Everyday Publications of Canada. We spent a number of days sorting the books and delivering them to different churches and Bible teachers all over the country. The men really appreciated the books as Bible study material is not readily available and is too expensive for most people.
What a joy it is to meet together with the new believers in La Mina on a Sunday morning. At present we are meeting under a tree for shade from the sun but we will need to put up some sort of a roof before rainy season really gets under way. We were able to get a hearing aid for Santiago and this has really helped him to be able to hear and understand the lessons better.
While we were in N. Ireland Ramona had to have a big toe removed because of gangerene. The wound wasn't healing so we have been taking her to the clinic everyday to have it cleaned and dressed. PTL it is now starting to heal. Please pray that it will continue to heal and that she won't have to have the whole foot removed.
On 1st April Clive and a local Christian brother, Carlos Hernandez, began a half hour radio program to present the Gospel. The program is being aired Monday to Friday with Carlos presenting the lessons "Creation to Christ", and Clive reading the Bible verses. The program goes out live, so there is no room for mistakes. The program covers most of the provinces of Panama. Please pray for the preparation in presenting the programs, for fluency in Spanish, and for the Holy Spirit to work in the hearts of the listeners.
Thank you for continuing to pray for the work here in Santiago.
In Him,
Clive & Hazel Walker
